At 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month, we pause.
Remembrance Day marks the signing of the armistice that ended the First World War in 1918. Since then, it has become a national moment of reflection to honour all Australians who have served and those who continue to carry the cost of that service, both seen and unseen.
Today is about more than poppies and ceremonies. It’s about acknowledging that service comes in many forms, on the battlefield, behind the wire, in the air, at sea, and at home. Whether someone deployed or not, wore medals or not, they were prepared to put their life on the line for their country. That kind of commitment deserves our gratitude. Always.
Today, I will be laying a wreath at ANZAC Square in Brisbane on behalf of Cor Infinitus to acknowledge those who served our nation and were overwhelmed by the battle within. Their service mattered. The impact of their service deserves to be recognised. Cor Infinitus exists to ensure that families who have lost loved ones to suicide are met not with silence or stigma, but with dignity and respect.
We provide places of remembrance and reflection, quiet spaces where grief is honoured, not hidden. Our mission is to bring visibility to the invisible wounds of service and to ensure no one is left to carry the weight alone. Because how we remember matters. And the way we support those left behind says everything about the kind of culture we choose to build.
To those who have served, to the families who stood beside them, and to the mates who never stop showing up, we see you. We thank you. And we are with you.
And to all of you who have supported the work we do at Cor Infinitus, thank you. Your ongoing support allows us to continue this mission of remembrance, education and postvention support across the country. You help us ensure that no one is forgotten.
Today, we honour the fallen. We acknowledge the cost.
And we recommit to doing our part in carrying the duty of care forward.
With gratitude,
Lest we forget.
